Foreign students may profit form the several IPC services namely: IPC Social Services (accommodation, canteen services, libraries, study rooms, psychological support service, personal and social support, academic and pedagogical support, and vocational support for students and emergency aid). In addition to social services, IPC offers culture activities (Penedo da Saudade Cultural Center) and sports activities (Sports Office). Each school has a Students’ Association which represents their interests in academic, material and cultural issues with the institutions of the Polytechnic of Coimbra. As an important part of the academic tradition and experience IPC has 7 Tunas (academic traditional music groups) integrated in the IPC Schools. IPC also relies on several other structures:
International Relations/Erasmus Offices, Student Associations/student volunteer groups that accompany international students and support their integration in the institution and the city; Reception events that welcome foreign students/teachers and non-teaching staff, as well as provide the creation of a first space for conviviality and integration among all; Portuguese language and culture courses for mobility students; Accommodation in IPC’s residences and an Erasmus Student Network (ESN).
