DESCRIPTION

Turku UAS is a higher education institution of 12,000 experts, researchers, students, faculty members and teaching professionals. Turku UAS creates solutions for a better tomorrow – both regionally and globally. The graduates are practice-oriented professionals with top competencies. As a significant regional actor, it harbours close ties to businesses and municipalities in Southwest Finland. Turku UAS is the fourth largest technical university in Finland. Students are sought after experts, with 99 % employment within five years of graduating. Turku UAS welcomes foreign students with a number of degree programmes in English. Studies are work-life oriented, combining theoretical studies with professional skills. Students are involved with RDI activities and projects. At the heart of the Wireless Communications and Cybersecurity research group is the development of test platforms for wireless networks and the transfer of know-how to companies. The focus is on 5G technology and the cybersecurity of IoT systems. We work closely with companies that develop and utilize new technologies. Located on the IoT campus in Salo, the Cyber Test Lab develops testing activities, especially for the needs of systems and equipment related to the IoT and the manufacturing industries. In addition to testing and measurement activities, the goal is to increase general awareness on cybersecurity.  The activities include, for example, an annual Information Security Day for SMEs. Turku University of Applied Sciences is a member of ECSO (European Cyber Security Organisation) and FISC (Finnish Information Security Cluster).
